BELLE EPOQUE

The years between about 1890 and 1910, known as the Belle Epoque, witnessed an explosion of artistic creativity in the graphic arts, with a revival of interest in original etchings and lithographs, experiments with colour printing and a new freedom for artists to explore every aspect of daily life from grand balls to sleazy bars, family life to familiar brothels.
